Sunday in Aarstelaar...

Quite an exceptional Sunday.
We went for a walk in the Rubens-Park,
near the Open-Air Museum, Middelheim,
Admired the big variety of trees and plants
In this carefully designed "giant"garden.
The Azela's had already gone and so had the Irisses.
But coming to the little garden
which you enter through a low wooden gate,
we saw the pond with waterlillies.
All the knobs were closed and sadly too,
some floated on the rippled surface, loose...
René walked on to see the whiteleafed Ahorn,
while I picked up three knobs and took them home.
They happily survived this Sunday afternoon,
and opened slightly
after a wash from rain and hail.
I thought it a fine wonder
worth to share with you...
